Who is a true Christian?

As always, the opinions that I state belong to me and are not necessarily the opinions of the board or the members of the FCFS.

Previously I posted that people should be able to self-label themselves. For example, if Trump calls himself a Christian, then he is a Christian. Others may attach adjectives to what kind of Christian he is.

I self-label myself as an atheist and a humanist. Others can judge whether or not that is accurate labeling.

So the questions for today are these: What kind of Christian was Charlie Kirk? And was he a free speech champion?

This excellent article addresses both those questions. I urge you to read the whole thing.

And now, almost instantly, by many, Kirk has been recast as some sort of free speech hero or Christian exemplar. Both are simply false. Charlie Kirk didn’t champion free speech, he used his platform to intimidate professors, silence dissent, and police thought on college campuses, for starters. He built his fame on ideological purges, not open dialogue. For anyone to claim otherwise is absurd and demonstrably false.
