One of the things on the agenda is the proposed gas tax increase. The funds will partially be used to replace septic tanks that are polluting our waterways. It’s item #82 on the published agenda.

What do you think of this idea? Ask the city council to put refillable water bottle stations in every park and every city government building. Also ask them to create a map of where these refillable water bottle stations can be found. Quote from this article: “Water bottle filling stations serve a variety of purposes. In addition to making sure everyone stays hydrated, they also eliminate plastic waste. The County [in south Florida] has set up an online map so residents can find the new stations.” Link to article:

We need to get in the habit of carrying our stainless steel water bottles and we need an abundance of water fountains that have the refillable option. I’ve seen them in the state Capitol and at state parks. Less single use bottled water, less recycling, less non biodegradable trash in the landfill.
